BUSY DOESN'T EQUAL PROGRESS

Just because you keep yourself busy doesn’t mean you are being productive. Focusing your energy on the wrong tasks can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stressed and going nowhere fast. The trick is to understand where you should be spending your time.

Nine News Finance recently suggested that you need to be ruthless when committing to activities, especially in the early days of your business when things can get pretty hectic. It’s all very well having a full diary, but filling your precious hours with meetings that aren’t going to benefit the strength of your business is a waste of your time and energy.

Many solo entrepreneurs fall into the trap of believing that in order to get the job done, they need to do it themselves. However, just because you work for yourself doesn’t mean you need to do everything. It is perfectly acceptable to outsource work to someone who may be better equipped, or to someone who may have more time to commit to the particular project.

Staying busy keeps you in your comfort zone as it doesn’t allow time to make bigger and better plans. In order to move forward, you need to allow time to be creative.
